PRIVATE LESSONS
Carolyn brings a nurturing, empathetic, and goal-setting approach to each lesson, along with over four decades of teaching and performing experience. Her many years as a band director in the Ann Arbor Public Schools gives her a rare perspective among private instructors.
Carolyn accepts students of all levels, using a variety of music to teach tonal beauty, technical development, musical expression, and ensemble skills. She helps students develop a passion for music and the trumpet while establishing their own identity as performing musicians, regardless of age or ability.
Currently, lessons are taught in person or online, depending on COVID vaccination status, exposure, illness, and family preference.
Unvaccinated students are asked to take online lessons until they are fully vaccinated.
